Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. Corcoran was among the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. She has participated in 53 deals since February, 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment that will provide 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence, her mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. The family relied on food deliveries from an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran remembers her father, one who would drink too much and behaved towards her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had several drinks. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a local Catholic elementary school before beginning high school in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. After failing several classes during her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
